simba black friday

ui/ux design, art direction & performance marketing

. I was tasked with leading the drive for the digital assets for Black Friday. This required a wide range of assets that had to all tie together coherently in a visual and compelling way to help drive the massive amount of spend and the one off 20% off sale running and international reach in multiple markets (FR/NL/DE/UK).

I worked closely with product development, performance marketing and fellow designers from my team to produce the following assets. I was heavily involved in all aspects of these assets from concepting to handover. A selection of assets can be found further down this page (click to jump to the relevant asset!).

  • CRM emails
  • Facebook / Instagram / Snapchat banners
  • PPC / Google Display / Youtube

UI design

I was tasked with designing the main landing page for Black Friday which I conceptualized and developed before handing off for slight refinements. I also designed a supplementary CE page from currently existing elements, which was handed straight to developers.

MPU & Affiliate Banners

MPU and affiliate marketing had two split banner styles- one that flickered quickly and drew the eye to the general product ranges, inciting a sense of urgency (left asset below). Both banner sets were designed with best practices in mind- simple messages, CTAs that hooked the viewer in and clean typography that allowed the image to shine within the extreme variances found in MPU banners

CRM emails

CRM marketing emails that were built are nuanced in their execution- there are two routes for consumers- both prospecting (emails gained through referrals, partnerships and one off sign ups) and existing consumers (people who had bought a Simba product). Email sequences were altered slightly with respect to these consumers and their existing knowledge of Simba products. These emails also adhere to best practices- so clear copy, the first slide of the GIF postcards still works even if frozen into a JPEG, intriguing CTA hooks and the use of postcard imagery.
